I had my first counselling session today and I was very surprised after walking down the busy main road to step into such a relaxed and calming place. Everything felt right, the staff were very welcoming, the decor was perfect (I loved the posters with simple but effective words on). The room we used really felt like a safe space. I couldn't have wished for more. Thank you for making a difficult time feel a little easier :-)

We had a couple therapy in a very small stuffy room. I was asked to talk quiter because I could be heard next door (I dont think i was loud) The therapist was great, just the room was awful. Clastrophobic.

Rooms are small, without windows and air conditioning, and walls are paper-like. People who sit in the waiting room can listen in. There is a bike shop next door which could be noisy. There are flats above with noisy tenants. The toilet is next to the counselling room, so you can hear the person who uses it. Someone stole my bike in front of the centre. People stand outside and smoke weed sometimes. If you want a place for therapy avoid this one.

I have rented a room from Body and Mind Centre for over two years. I contracted the four slots I have been paying in advance every month for, even during the second lockdown and when I went on holiday or did not have clients since I believed they would be blocked for me. At the beginning of November, the Centre manager changed my hours from 6-8 pm to 8 10 pm. with one month's notice. When I tried to negotiate a resolution that would suit me, he said that he could not do anything for me since he would like to earn more money and my slots might be paid higher when used by trainee counsellors. I was shocked and disappointed, and I moved my practice elsewhere. The contract I signed two years ago is pretty vague: it states that the "Centre is responsible for providing exclusive use of a professional and high-quality consulting space for a weekly, fixed, ongoing slot" and says nothing about terminating the contract or changing hours. If a counsellor wishes to terminate the agreement Centre gets two months of notice. I cannot shake the impression that this practice is unfair. I would understand if, as with other places, the booking was weekly, but I booked four slots for what I thought was an indefinite time. At least, as a loyal client, I would expect a chance to negotiate a compromise. Therefore I do not recommend the Centre.
