Sad to say that my experience at this institute has been awful. I am a young revert Alhamdulillah who wanted to learn Arabic so that I could have a better understanding of the Quran. I attended an open day and asked specifically whether this class would be for people who have NO experience in Arabic and they said yes. I spent my savings on this class as I wanted to do it for the sake of Allah. Once the classes began, everyone was shocked that this so called beginner class was not suited to beginners whatsoever, and we had frequent conversations as a class about how it is unfair. The teacher would completely ignore me, not even hand me a white board for the class activities and act as if I wasnt even there. People have tried to discuss the pace of the class with the teacher and she starts arguments with them and has a horrible attitude to any type of criticism, making students uncomfortable to even come to lessons. The only people this teacher seems to have respect for and be polite to is students who are related to the people running the institute. Due to the teachers attitude and lack of attention for beginners, many people have stopped attending the class altogether and formal complaints have been made. I was supposed to receive private lessons from this teacher due to the lack of attention I received in lessons and after a few lessons she completely blanked my texts for a month and then texted me that she doesnt want to do it anymore. I tried to speak to the teacher about my struggle politely and she sent me very rude and unprofessional texts, several paragraphs just personally attacking me over strange things such as her not being able to recognise me because I sometimes wear the niqab to lessons. in the end I had to remind her I have no interest in arguing just getting help and that this is not how Muslims behave. I have been in and out of hospital, made homeless due to my family not accepting me being a Muslim and lost everything. I now cant even afford to buy food and I have wasted my savings on these so called beginner lessons where I have learned absolutely nothing whatsoever! I cannot afford to learn Arabic for a very long time as I have spent all my money on these lessons. The least you would expect from an Islamic institute is a bit of compassion, but I sent a complaint email to the institution on the 29th of January explaining my entire situation and showing the rude texts the teacher has sent me and have received no reply from the college whatsoever. Disgusted at the way I have been treated by madinah college and would never do another course with them again. Theyve taken my money, taught me nothing and treated me like I am nothing simply because I am a revert with little knowledge. I waited a long time because I really didnt want to leave a negative review on an Islamic institute, but they havent even bothered to reply to me. The way they have treated me as a revert is absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone at all.

I have attended dawrahs here and they have been very beneficial. The college really goes out of their way to make sure that students benefit from the mashayikh and ustadhs that teach. May Allah bless the college and all the work they done teaching ilm that will benefit our dunya and akhirah.
