Whilst I am sure that the flats are of a high standard and the views will be fantastic, I cannot comprehend how such an unsympathetic building passed through planning in a conservation area. We have a number of fantastic Victorian and Edwardian buildings in the vacinity and whilst I do not expect the new building to replicated these, I would have hoped that a more creative approach would have been adopted. The building with its use of steel and glass balconies, random orange and blue coloured panels and girders say more about cost than contemporary design. Finally the parking areas backing onto Brownlow Road are fitted out with strip lights and bulk head lights that are left on all night creating massive light pollution in the area and onto the houses opposite. Really is this the best we can do MaCarthy and Stone?
