If your goal is to learn all aspects of upholstery, improve existing skills, broaden your knowledge on the history of upholstered furniture (traditional and modern) and boost confidence in your abilities, then The British School of Upholstered Furniture is the place you want to learn. Having trained at three different Schools over the course of my 3 stage AMUSF qualification my time at BSOUF has been the most enjoyable, not only due to the relaxed and friendly learning environment, but because Gareth and Greg are amazing teachers whose knowledge is pretty much endless. In the two years that I have attended the school every question has been answered with both a depth of experience and practical knowledge, thereby enabling the learning to be demonstrated with the right skill and due regard for each students level of ability. I would have no hesitation in recommending the school if you are thinking of the taking the AMUSF qualification or attending one of the many independent courses that are run from the school, which are advertised on the website. I am at present attending a 6 week further development course which is perfect for filling in any skills gaps you feel you may have and catching up with fellow students..:-)

The BSUF is a great place to learn upholstery at. These talented tutors are so enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge, its just a joy to be a student. This is my 2nd year here, and Im still enjoying the process! Every aspect of upholstery is covered - from its fascinating history, practical applications, materials & tools used, to future/forward thinking in terms of where were headed in this new century. I am studying the Advanced Diploma with The British School of Upholstered Furniture (having previously taken the AMUSF diploma elsewhere). The quality of teaching and depth of knowledge of the teachers here really is exceptional. There is also a lot of kindness and joy!

The British School of Upholstered Furniture is a great place to study the history and practice of upholstery and furnishings. The tutors are extremely knowledgeable and always find the time to explain and answer any questions students have. I have been working on my own upholstery side projects (on top of the course projects) and Gareth very kindly assists me with those as well - in great depth too. Furthermore, Gareth has actually tailored the course to more suit my needs, meaning I have learned more techniques and gained further understanding than I would have otherwise. The workshop in Nettlebed is a lovey location to be learning and it is a great environment to meet others in the industry, which is great for networking. I definitely recommend - I am also happy to answer any questions anyone may have.
