Having made a reservation on Wednesday for a Sunday lunch meal, when I arrived there was no reservation in place. During the telephone conversation to make the booking, I had discussed with the gentleman taking the call that it was ok to bring two dogs with us and he made sure I knew that it would not be a traditional roast. Knowing that there were several platters on offer, we went for the sharing platter at 26 expecting effectively a double platter. The platter seemed somewhat smaller than we expected. This might be because they had only catered for the 3 people who had booked in and whose booking they had noted. These people certainly had a wider choice than we did. We had two small pieces of very delicious cheese, prawns, smoked salmon, mackerel, salad, crusty bread and two charcuterie elements. I know that we all live in difficult times and I am sure the pub did what it could to satisfy our order, but our experience was disappointing.
