Have used before, 4 new tyres on this occasion. Dealt with quickly and professionally as before and at similarly reasonable prices. Would happily use again.

Chris and his (son?) Dan leave Amber on reception to enforce their dishonest will. I feel sorry for her. None of them divulge their surnames, which should make you suspicious. Note reviews on here are mainly 1 star ( authentic ) and 5 star. (perhaps not). I'd had to jump start my car twice, so just after closing time I asked at Black Swan if I could leave the car there with a view to getting a quote when they opened tomorrow. I did say, "could you just check the battery's not completely dead?" as I know there's a little gadget that finds this out in 5 seconds. I know I should have asked 'Will you charge me for this?' . Next day, by phone Dan quotes me 140 + VAT to fit a new battery. I say, I'll call back. In that time I called Martin's Rowledge Garage - one I trust - who quoted me 80 + VAT for a decent Bosch battery with 3 yr guarantee. I called Black Swan back to let them know that I'll look elsewhere and will get the car off their forecourt. Dan then tells me, shouting and patronising, that they've taken the battery out, had it on the bench, run full diagnostics on it and 50 + VAT thank you. Or they could do the work to fit the new battery for the quoted price. So I was held to ransom. I refused, since I hadn't asked for any such diagnostic work, and I don't believe for a moment that they actually did it. I thanked them once again and said I'd come and collect the car. They blocked it in and refused to return my key or car to me until I paid them 50 in cash - they'd kindly included the VAT, but still. The whole atmosphere was of aggressive bullying and I would be staggered if they got any repeat custom. Amber, on reception, had to take the flack. If anyone else has had such an experience with them I'm sorry to hear it. AVOID like the plague.
