I have been a customer here for about 4 years and recently the customer service has been lacking. I ordered in contact lenses last year and they took ages to arrive so in the end I cancelled. I understand supplier issues are out of your hands but they could've kept me updated rather than me having to call up all the time. Additionally I just went in today to look at my glasses getting adjusted and the young male customer service assistant was not good. Whilst I understood that he wasn't comfortable adjusting my glasses not knowing the plastic type, he lacked in friendliness, was disinterested and reacted defensively when I asked if he could seek a colleague's advice, as he didn't seem very confident in what he was telling me. I don't usually bother to leave negative reviews but this is just basic customer service. It's disappointing and not a particularly great experience, so I'll be looking to change opticians for my next eye test. EDIT - I received a call 2 days later from the manager who apologised and corrected the information the previous customer advisor had told me, so I may be able to get the glasses adjusted after all. I was pleasantly surprised by the follow-up and appreciated the call. I had actually spoken to her a couple weeks ago in store when I'd collected the glasses and thought she was very friendly. So there is some good customer service sometimes and I will give this branch another chance.

Odd place, I asked about fitting lenses to a pair of new glasses frames before booking in an eye test and they said no problem. I had my eyes tested, purchased lenses for my glasses but on fitting I was told they can't shape metal frames, only plastic ones?! I was then told to go to the independent shop Leightons on Downing Street. Specsavers are happy to take your money for 159 but not willing to provide a 5 minute service at the end. Thankfully I cancelled my contact lenses appointment, and will no longer buy my second pair of glasses with them. I will be going back to Leightons as they were friendly, helped me fit my glasses as a walk in with no issues and have a wide variety of frames for my next pair.

I was seen by Katherine Eveleigh on Tuesday 21st February as an emergency patient. She was extremely efficient and conscientious in her examination of my eye and as a matter of caution, referred me to the local eye hospital. The hospital backed up her diagnosis and thankfully I was discharged without any further treatment. I feel very lucky to have been treated by such a professional and one with a friendly and compassionate manner. In general, the staff in this opticians were extremely friendly and competent.
