MagiKats Maths and English Tutoring

Following the first Covid-19 lockdown we enrolled both of our secondary school aged children at Magikats Farnham to provide additional input for both English and Maths. We cannot praise the team enough for the work they have done with both of them who have very different needs and learning styles. Our daughters year group sat their English Literature GCSE a year early this summer. She was thrilled with her GCSE grade 9 and is going into year 11 really keen to achieve more! Thomas has been attending Magikats since the end of Year 2 when it became clear that the combination of missed school due to hospital visits and some poor teaching had resulted in him falling a long way behind. He wasn't meeting expectations for his age. He is now in Year 7 and has just been placed in the Top Set for maths in his first year of secondary school. I'm not saying it comes naturally to him but the combination of confidence built, extra practice, and tools and techniques learnt, means he is in a place we didn't think we'd ever get to. We'll keep attending to give him the best chance for his GCSEs.

Enrolling my 9 year old son in Magikats, Farnham was one of the best decisions I ever took . Magikats has an excellent learning environment and a friendly atmosphere that had put my son at ease quite quickly . What I liked best about Magikats was that worksheets were not generic but rather customised to a childs needs . For instance when my son started at Magikats, he was struggling with punctuations . Week after week he was given a worksheet on punctuation , along with other worksheets , till he learnt to use them correctly. My review wouldnt be complete if I dont mention Emma . She exudes friendliness and approachability , which made it very easy for me to share concerns about my sons learning . She always listened attentively and responded with appropriate engaging and meticulously planned individual programme to address the concerns and needs. Due to some personal reason my son has to discontinue Magikats for a few months and with English always being his nemesis , I was pleasantly surprised when he asked , why he has to discontinue Magikats as he had started to like English after going to Magikats . I think that sums up my review .
