Beautiful things but the lady working there quite unfriendly. Felt like an effort to serve me. Better local stores to spend my money in.

I absolutely love this shop. Such a beautiful, well curated treasure trove of high quality, unique gifts and items, gorgeous displays, and actualy really reasonable prices! Staff are all very lovely too.

A disappointing visit today, the stock was interesting but all easily obtainable elsewhere but it is well presented and there were many items I was tempted to buy. I was with my husband who went to get me a birthday card while I browsed the rest of the shop. I noticed one member of staff seemed to move to watching him and felt uncomfortable. My husband was carrying a bag that we had purchased in another shop in town, it was in a flimsy branded bag and fell to the floor when the bottom dropped out of the bag. When my husband gave it back to me in full sight of the staff member I folded it and returned to its original wrapper. I told my husband that I felt uncomfortable in the shop because of the staff member and once he had paid for the card he had chosen I said I didnt want to stay to look at other items to buy. As we left the staff member stopped my husband at the door and challenged him about the bag asking if it was one of theirs. They stock that brand but not that style of bag. I reentered the shop with the receipt for the bag and asked her to look at it and agree that it was not her stock. She insinuated that we had acted suspiciously thus attracting her attention and said that she had accepted my husbands word. Perhaps an apology would have been more appropriate and have made what was meant to be a nice day out easier to resume. Im sure shop lifters come in all shapes and sizes and accept that they had every right to protect their stock. But am not sure at what point she decided this early sixties couple were suspicious but quite honestly if we had of been shop lifters we were certainly not acting like good ones! Certainly would not recommend a visit, their stock is available at many other outlets where customer service is better. This kind of shop invites people to browse, if you cant monitor your stock in a more friendly way then consider your staffing and layout better. Addition in response to reply from owner - when I stated goods were easily obtainable elsewhere I was referring to such items as Roka bags, 100 stars gowns, Liga and many of the small items of glass and china which I have seen elsewhere. In fact the bag we entered carrying was a Roka bag in its original plastic covering purchased at another shop in the town. Sadly I didnt have the time to spot your own items due to the above. This was our first visit to Farnham and the contrast between the staff in your shop and in others that we visited was noticeable. I totally understand that in your retail environment staff have to be observant but fail to see how when we entered the shop openly carrying an item we should be accused of stealing it. The whole conversation could have been handled better. The reason I went back with the receipt is that I was unsure whether you staff member had gone to perhaps report to police. The way she dealt with this really has caused distress. Having looked at the website for the shop I believe it was the manager who interacted with us.
