The Pet Shop

We brought our pups into the shop a couple of weeks ago to pick up a bag of dog food, and we were truly amazed at the lack of interaction from the shop keeper. He barely acknowledged us, and despite having two excited puppies yapping away, he ignored them entirely. We did not feel welcome, and didn't find the prices to be very competitive. Despite being a 10 min walk away, we prefer to use the pet shop in Wantage as the staff are always happy to greet our pups and the prices are better. We always try to support small local businesses, but the service needs to be acceptable and this shop falls short. With the huge selection of online services and big chain stores around these days, being local simply isn't enough anymore.

Went here with my dog, didn't feel welcome shop owner/assistant wasn't sure wasn't talkative at all. I only went in to support a local business but rather I hadn't bothered at all because firstly the place is bleak and depressing with what looks to be faded stock in the windows. Overpriced found a rope in there for 21.99 found online for half that, but I bought a cheaper rope toy out of respect of my original idea to find it was way cheaper online anyway. Paying extra for a bleak shopping experience? Not worth it. Sounds stupid especially now but was hoping as it's a minute walk from my house it would become my new local pet shop. After my experience is rather buy online.
