I cannot recommend Swordsman too highly . They were efficient and unfailingly helpful.Thanks to them we have had our planning application approved .Not only were they great to deal with their charges were very reasonable.

Martin and his team at Swordsman Historic Architecture Design offer a wide range of design services from planning application drawings to sophisticated bespoke structure design. I am really impressed with their expertise and high quality of work. I have commissioned them to carry out a comprehensive design (planning application, construction design, structure design, building regulation) for my home renovation project. It is a large project of complex design. A big challenge of the project lies in its complex design requirements due to its particular style and appearance (cornices, quoins, window surrounds), special features (a huge dormer window with limestone surrounds, a large pentagon window) and materials (limestones, steel beams), significant alterations of the original building structures (addition of a huge dormer, relocation of stairs, significant alteration of load bearing walls). They have done a brilliant job in interpreting my ideas and reproducing from my crude hand drawings into rigorous designs. During the process of renovation there have been countless implementation issues due to the nature of the project. Martin and his team have demonstrated their quality in resolving complex technical issues. Due to complexity of the design, there have been a lot of regulatory and standards related challenges. It is extremely valuable to me that I have an architect who knows what is viable and what is not. In addition, Martin and his team have demonstrated their ability to work with the planning officer and building controls to resolve various planning and building standards issues. I would strongly recommend Swordsman Historic Architectural Design for medium to large scale renovation projects.

We were very happy with the work completed for us by Martin. It was all done a lot quicker than we initially anticipated and he took all the hassle out of the process for us. He kept us updated at every stage and was definitely money well spent. Great service and end result.
