Our Aunt was a resident for over a year and a half. She was very difficult sometimes because her dementia made her paranoid and prone to delusions. The staff there were absolutely wonderful. We've never met such patient people. No matter what the old dear dreamed up, they were always keen to jolly her along and keep her spirits up. Ours as well, especially when she had a turn for the worse. Her room and her person were always kept clean even when things were trying. She was well cared for. Like many of the health care professionals in the country, the staff worked very hard. We never heard any of them complain. We have only praise for the staff at The Avenue Care Home.

My mother has been a resident at The Avenue Care Home for over two years now. Both my sister and myself are extremely pleased and happy with the care that she receives there. When Mum first moved in, we were told by one of the senior carers, to rest assured that Mum was in good hands and that she would be well cared for and looked after. She also told us that, as this was now Mum's home, we should treat it as such and feel free to visit Mum as often and for as long as we wanted and needed to, which was lovely to hear and very reassuring. The Avenue has a very cosy and homely atmosphere about it, my sister and I enjoy visiting Mum regularly and often help out by feeding Mum some of her meals. Over time, The Avenue has grown to feel like home from home and we, as a family, enjoy a great rapport with the very friendly members of staff, all of whom maintain a very professional and highly efficient quality of care, as well as warmth and compassion towards residents and their families. We are all treated with respect and are involved and included in considerations which may be necessary to enable the home to deliver Mum the correct and appropriate level of service, so as to ensure her well-being and happiness. Previously, I had given up my job and cared for Mum myself, at her home, for two months before finally having to submit her care to The Avenue. Consequently, I can fully and completely relate to, empathise with and appreciate what a great job all the staff there do in caring for our dear Mum. Well done, we applaud and thank you all.
