Arrived the last three times to find the car park swims 'closed'. These have clearly been reserved for the baliffs and friends which is slightly unfair being a day ticket water. The lake is a cracking venue with lots of potential. Swims are really close together in places so not for you if you like to spread your rods to any degree.

47 years ago I lived in Fairfield, and whilst Google touring spotted the lakes, for which other reviewers mentioned dog walking. The bailiff ? answered the phone no on the fisheries website. Charming and helpful he explained the footpaths were permissive and we were welcome to dog walk. So we did. Boy has the undergrowth grown...into a wood! Loads of wildlife, very peaceful. Don't forget waterproof footwear!
