I have just spent the most disappointing and uncomfortable day of my life in Specsavers Croydon North End. I have a job, I study, run my own business and look after a baby and I do not normally take my time to write a complaint about someone. But I could not vent my frustration caused by the behaviour of the staff. I always go to Vision Express in the same street for my eye test and have been doing so for many years and had always praised and recommended their service. It is the first time I went to Specsavers and the following happened: I had my eye test done as scheduled. During the examination I told the optician (Kiral) that the comparative images he was showing were not perfectly clear. He insisted that I kept going, which I did. I was telling him which images were comparatively better even when none were perfect. At the end he said the test was complete and gave me the new prescription. He said it was different to what I had in my last prescription. I paid for the test and stepped out of the store. I realised that the optician did not show me a very clear image at any point during or after the test - to make sure that I was happy with my new prescription which I always used to get with Vision Express. So, I went back in within no more than 5 mins. I expressed my concern to Kam (may be sales assistant) and asked whether I could test the new prescription as I was not feeling confident enough. He started giving me this look as if I did something wrong. He went to his colleague, twitching his two raised fingers (mockingly), saying that I wanted to Check my Prescription. I felt so small and embarrassed. Kashav (supervisor), who has been very nice and pleasant, helped me to check the new prescription which as I suspected were still blurry. Kashav suggested that he will ask the optician to show me with his machine and asked me to wait. After waiting for a long time, I was told that the optician does not want to look after me. Kashav explained that he appreciated that I am within my rights and have not been difficult with them in my actions but the optician simply refused to work with me. I had the right to complaint. What would I achieve by complaining?? What about the time I wasted? I do not understand how a mainstream brand like Specsaver can allow such a behaviour and treat customer so poorly. I am frustrated, embarrassed and honestly disappointed. I dont know how Specsaver can do this right. But I cant believe I paid 35 to bring myself an insult like this. I don't deserve this.
