Rooms: Rooms small and basic, ok for 2 people, for families (3 people) very tight. Room and bathroom was cleaned every day, however cleaniness should be improved in general. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Nearby activities: Restaurants, shopping possibilities quite close to the hotel. Boxpark is a good option for dinner with plenty of choice of street food. Safety: Homeless people in the surrounding, but we didn't feel unsave. Walkability: 5 min walk to train station East Croydon, easy, much and fast connections to London Bridge, Victoria. Food & drinks: Basic warm and cold british breakfast, same choice daily. We missed fresh fruits, vegetables and bread, only toast available. Friendly stuff who cares about breakfast guest, especially kids.

If I could give 0 stars I would. When I first got there, a picture of my ID was taken without any explanation. I had to ask, and the response I got was "it's hotel policy.' Nowhere on their policy does it say that. I also asked got two different responses in relation to how long they would keep the picture, one being 10 days, the other being as soon as our stay is over. They also took 30 extra for "accidental damages", which was not mentioned prior. The room is tiny and it's really dark, quite depressing actually. No bathtub, only a shower. I was also told that if I needed anything during my stay to call reception, which I did and then was told that they don't provide room service and that I would need to come down to get it myself. All I asked for was cutlery. That doesn't count as room service. You'd think that for the price that they charge you a night, they would be willing to bring things to your room and have a bigger room. Even Premier Inn does that and it's supposed to be a budget hotel :) We weren't told about the "fitness centre" which we are entitled to use as customers. We only found about it because my partner saw a sign on the elevator and had to ask the reception about it. Calling it a "fitness centre" is an absolute joke. The space is tiny with very little equipment. We were also looked at by reception staff as if we didn't belong there, which made us feel unwelcomed. Tip: either go to Premier Inn Croydon which may be budget but at least the staff are nice and helpful (e.g. at Premier inn if we need anything, the staff will actually come to your room to give it to you, and are also very accommodating) or go to another hotel nearby if you have to stay in Croydon.
