This has been a very poor service from Shorplans, especially from yourself Carl, in which you have to be the most incompetent, unprofessional and impolite person I have ever encountered. The amount of errors encountered on the requested drawings were beyond ridiculous, and if it was not for the fact that I deal with technical drawings on a daily basis these would not have been picked up. I feel very worried for the people that have received drawings from Shorplans and not realised the amount of errors and incorrect information that can be found on them. When bringing errors or changes to the attention of anyone at Shorplans, the internal communication has been awful, especially when a contractor wanted to get in touch to clarify information and the reply was an obnoxious "You should know what you are doing, just get on with it". The fact that none of you seem to relay any information between yourselves Carl, Maria, Ann Marie and Luis, is something that is so obvious to the client and makes you all look incredibly incompetent. Simple notes on drawings were passed on to several of you at different points in the project, at least double figures in terms of sent back drawings, and some were just never addressed, e.g. the existing toilet that didn't need to be involved with building control. The fact that Carl would get involved in projects also creates a distraction to the other employees as in his words "I haven't been to site, so I don't know...". You created more problems for this project than you realise Carl and are unfit to manage a "Architectural Service" when you are obviously not an architect. Submitting the drawings to building control was also a joke. I had not given my approval and was still awaiting quotes for the works before I decided to proceed with the project and received an email from Shorplans that they have submitted the drawings to the local authority building control and to bill their client cc'd in the email. There was also the fact that I expressed my desire to use a private building control company which was also ignored. This is again down tot he fact that no one communicated within the company and Carl trying to force the project out the door with little care or knowledge about the project. The drawings themselves were of a poor quality as per the list below which is only a sample of things I found wrong: Scaling was poor, large empty blank spaces and size of plan to small. Font size was too small, was ineligible when printed off. Notes to layout were either pointless or redundant. (If it was ever correct) Technical notes were incorrect or irrelevant. (Cut and paste) Technical notes were not checked as there were repeated notes. Technical details and drawings were not required for the project. e.g Soakaway when there was no further impermeable area being added, completely unnecessary. I feel very cheated in the way I was sold your services at my initial meeting, and is a shame that it has turned out this way.
