I had found out about Ian's hypnotherapy sessions at a taster night at the Pilates studio in Hitchin. The taster was informative and the handout about positive actions to take suited what I was looking for. My husband died in the summer after a short and unexpected illness- as a result I was feeling anxious about my ability to cope on my own and finding it hard to sleep. I found Ian's manner to be encouraging and his insights helpful. He was flexible in adapting to when I could fit in sessions. He was good at choosing the guided meditations to suit my circumstances and desired outcomes.

The difference this journey has made to me is incredible. I have spent years waking in the night and suffering with anxiety; after my first session with Ian I slept through the night and have been ever since. Highly recommended and a very worthwhile investment in your well being. I feel happier, calmer, I'm sleeping through the night, eating better and my anxiety has virtually vanished. Thank you Ian.

I contacted Ian after suffering with chronic insomnia and anxiety after the birth of my little girl. At the time I was exhausted, stuck in a cycle of not sleeping and as a result feeling emotional and anxious. I had tried a catalogue of different things to help with the insomnia, and at the time was taking prescription sleeping pills which still werent giving me a full nights sleep. I didnt feel like myself and was at a loss as to how to break the cycle and start to sleep again and reduce my anxiety. I was initially sceptical about whether CBT and hypnotherapy would have any impact, but working with Ian has been nothing but positive and has had a great impact. Over 12 sessions he gradually introduced the CBT and hypnotherapy techniques to me, working at my own pace and adapting and flexing to my needs and circumstances as a new mum. Beyond the weekly scheduled sessions, I was also able to email Ian anytime I needed to, and he would always respond quickly giving me the reassurance and support I needed . As a result of working with Ian I am no longer taking sleeping tablets, am able to fall asleep and sleep in blocks of time, and am feeling much less anxious. As someone who has suffered insomnia on and off since my late teens, the journey hasnt been linear and I have had setbacks/ blips , but I now feel more confident I have the tools and techniques to get my sleep back on track and know that a few bad nights doesnt mean all is lost. Id definitely recommend working with Ian for anyone looking for a long term solution to their insomnia and anxiety.
