I'm sorry this place is totally unfit for elderly or dementia residents as there is no security to stop anyone from using stairs apart from the cheapest of wooden gates that aren't locked. As far as I could tell the Residents are able to get out the back door and onto the road. No disrespect to the staff but I would feel guilty for putting a love one in there. Also could I please add if a home isn't fit for a child to visit then how can an elderly person be able to stay..

My mum was placed in Firs Hall for 4 weeks respite care. Her room was adequate but no TV. No one bothered to give her a shower, I had to ask after 3weeks. Hair wasn't washed, just dry shampoo put through her hair. Medication given late or at the wrong time. Food witheld from her due to her soiling. She had 2 falls in there and thankfully she was taken to hospital in her final week in which was a saviour as it meant she didn't have to return there. She lost 1stone in weight and was scared of one resident who physically attacked a carer. The only reason I've given 2stars is for the 2staff who genuinely appeared to care, Elaine and Michelle. Staff work hard, thwt have no choice as minimal staffing which in my opinion didn't meet the needs of the residents. I had no choice but to make a compliant to CQC. My mum is now at home doing well, gaining weight and so much happier
