The worst reception we've ever had on entering a pub. "Slaughtered Lamb" more welcoming. Thought we'd try for a cheeky half pint 20 mins before closing at 4:40pm on a Sunday afternoon. Bellowed at by the local drunk upon entering while our shocked response was filmed. I can't believe the landlord tolerates this behaviour in a pub that must rely heavily on tourists. The village and the pub look idyllic, so clearly appearances can be deceptive.

Not much choice on menu for British cuisine. I had roast beef which was chewy and impossible to cut, thin gravy and soggy over cooked vegetables. The others in my party received overcooked, dried chips and not many. Long wait, when we did get our meals and served by the waiter with his belly hanging out from a shirt button that had popped undone. 3 poor main meals, 2 glasses of wine and 2 small soft drinks for 75! Won't be revisiting!
