We bought a X1 from Barton Car prior to purchasing the car I initially enquired via auto trader. I was contacted back on the same day we arranged a viewing my husband went with alone and I viewed the car a few days later with a friend who was a mechanic, some garages may have felt quite put out but Barton car company were accommodating to any requests with no pushy sale talk I felt at ease and confident. I arranged to pick the car up on the Friday there were a couple of things to be completed that we arranged to go back for. I always feel that one of the biggest test of customer service is the after sales and Barton Car company have definitely delivered. We are thrilled with our lovely new car and will return to Barton Car Company when looking for another car. Thank you both so much

If you have never visited or, bought a car from this company, the initial first impressions from the website would suggest that they are legit, and care about each and every car/customer. However, this is not true. I have no idea how they aquire their available car stock, but my guess is, they come in and go out as they are, unless there is a risk to a drivers safety IE Brakes, they never check tyre pressures, with many tyres being at least 20Psi lower than they should be, coolant and engine oil levels are never checked, and to be honest, this does not surprise me, the company use 1 incompetant mechanic to prepare and potentially rectify any would be faults pre sale or after sale. Customer service is questionable. They never update customers with progress on repairs. Communication is also questionable with getting mixed messages from the showroom staff or indeed the repair man. I actually believe that nothing will ever change at this car sales company, Ive yet to meet an honest used car dealer, and believe me I have dealt with a fair few over the years! I could go on, but whats the point?! ** In response to the owner. As you well know, the Mot even if clean as a whistle (No advisories) is only part of the reassurance a car is worthy of a sale. There are #Many aspects of a car that do not get checked during an Mot. Your goal is to sell the higher price cars, because there is more probability that these will have been looked after better (although not always) and forget about the under 3k priced cars, because these don't generate anywhere near the same profit margin. It would also make sense not to encourage customers to come and view vehicles that are awaiting preparation, as this is extra messing about at the point of a potential sale. Prepare the cars to a high standard, then advertise does that make sense?

We have just brought a Hyundai from Paul at Barton cars. Really pleased with the car, drives beautiful. His service and customer care has been second to none. We had a few electrical faults with the car that we reported back to him. Without hesitation he asked us to bring it back in for him to assess. He then gave us a courtesy car to use until he could order the parts and sort out all issues. During the wait for the parts a family member passed away, and we needed to drive to Oxfordshire for the funeral. I phoned to see if the car was ready yet. He explained that he was still waiting for them to arrive. He then offered to pay for us to hire a more appropriate car for us to attend the funeral and drive family members to the ceremony. How kind! We declined the offer but noted this kind gesture. When the car was returned to us it was all ship shape and for the added bonus it had been fully valeted as a goodwill gesture. When I phoned to say thank you for looking after us and being a man of his word, he then again offered to pay for the hire car for the day of the funeral. Top man top service!!! I will soon be looking for a run around for my son when he passes his test. I will be returning for this first class service. Thank you so much

AVOID THIS GARAGE AT ALL COSTS, First brought a car from them and it went wrong within the first week, It took them 6 weeks to fix this car so I used this car as a deposit to get finance as I needed something more reliable, Worst mistake I made! The second one was just as bad. Flat battery within the first two weeks, Faulty parking sensor, Faulty injectors and more. 7 Months later, breach of consumer rights and my money back thank god! Customer service is awful as they never keep you updated and when I said that I was seeking legal advice they even stated "we will fight you all the way and it will take 6 months". They never remember who you are and use the excuse you must of spoke to PAUL. Well PAUL is the only person I spoke to. If you are after a car which goes wrong with in the first week or two then this is the garage for you, They even supply you with a free torch in your engine bay! joke of a company! Reminds me of MR Wormwood's garage of the film Matilda!!
