It breaks my heart to write from personal experience but i think the environment is tired. There is not active stimulation for residents and staff clearly need education, Training and support to meet the needs of this very vulnerable patient group. As far as I can see , theyre unable to do this adequately currently.

I am appalled by the conditions of this home. As soon as you walk in, you see objects not where they should be, eg cups dotted randomly around everywhere, and many other things. The carers have a hard time understanding you, as the majority of them speak little or no English, now imagine me, a young, normal person struggling to communicate with these carers. Now imagine how hard it would be for someone with dementia, struggling to even understand themselves, let alone someone who doesn't speak their language. I know it is hard to find English carers, but these foreign carers, should at least need to have the basic English before being employed at a place like this. Another thing that disgusted me was the stench of urine as you walk in, again, any good care home should not smell in any way bad. When I went to visit the person I was there to see, they were lying in bed with little if not no pillow to support their head, and their quilt was thrown onto the only chair in the room. Not to mention the scaffolding on the front of the building already giving a look of danger before you've even walked in. Now, the person who went in there has come out worse than they went in, only a couple of weeks ago.
