I really enjoyed my recent course and made a great wee coffee table and shave horse. Alasdair is an amazing green woodworker and an even better teacher. Definitely worth the trip from Glasgow to Devon.

Thank you very much Alasdair, Simon, Zak and Joel for a fun, active weekend of green furniture skills and bodging, located in a lovely woodland setting and all carried out under the 'gentle' supervision of Milly. Good pre-course and website information, excellent teaching, enjoyable company, lots of support and encouragement throughout - all aimed at providing a great learning experience as well as a finished 'individualised' piece of green furniture packed full of memories to take home.

Amazing could not recommend more. Was a great Christmas present. We made two amazing stools and a rolling pin. Even when we werent finished Alastair stayed a bit longer from after it was supposed to end to help us finish are stools. Alastair and his crew were so helpful, passionate, funny and knowledgeable. We will definitely return to make more! Thank you Alastair and crew!!!

What a fantastic weekend the Simply Stools course was! While the course is primarily about green woodworking, you come away with insight into forestry, general carpentry, and a new appreciation for furniture-making. Working with the traditional tools and techniques is good fun, a great learning experience, and quite therapeutic. By the end of the first day, you'll find yourself working out how to fit a shaving horse in your living room! And of course, Alasdair and his assistants were great throughout -- very knowledgeable and always there to help and give guidance. Overall, a very enjoyable and fulfilling weekend. I can't wait to go back for other courses!
