First experience trying Chicken Waffles. Did not expect the sweetness of the waffles and maple syrup to go with the savory chicken - was pleasantly surprised. Portions tend to be on the smaller side so expect to order multiple plates (e.g. a main and a side or starter). Reasonably priced but because of portion sizes you tend to spend more than expected. Cannot recommend their own-brand larger. Smelled very funky every time I've had it (although did not taste off). Sometimes service has been on the slower side.

*REVIEW UPDATE* I recently found out that the meat here is infact Halal.... just a personal preference but this has made the Absurd bird a "NO GO" for me again. A shame condisering the first review ............... Really enjoyed my first visit to the absurd bird in Exeter last weekend. Food was great, I went with the big rooster and dirty bird fries. The burger was a rather impressive tower of salad, cheese, two chicken fillets topped with bacon and onion rings and the taste was just as good as it looked! The fries were good... the cheese used on the fries wasn't a favourite of mine , I feel that maybe mozzarella or a cheddar sauce could have been a little better but I enjoyed them none the less. I somehow managed to finish off with some churros for dessert, these came served with a choice of toffee or chocolate sauce dip. The portion size was around six chirros if I remember rightly, just about the perfect amount to finish off what was an incredibly tasty and filling meal. The staff were lovely, not sure who it was that served us but the younger girl was extremely friendly and gave exceptional service. I would happily recommend a visit to the absurd bird if you're looking for a place that can offer the whole package, great food, great service and great value for money!
