I would thoroughly recommend Devon Photography School for anyone with an interest in photography and keen to come off auto! Ken Pearson is a great teacher with content perfectly pitched for a beginner and I have taken away lots of useful learning in relation to photography theory - iso, aperture and shutter speed and the first 19 rules of composition. I cant wait to get out and put it into practice. I finally understand the full functionality of my DSLR camera! Thank you.

After a long wait due to broken bones, mine and Mark's!, I finally met up with Ken for my one to one session. A wet day, not too much photography, but I learnt SO much in those few hours. Ken is a minefield of information and happy to share as much as you want it. A very useful session and well worth the wait!

Ken has been brilliant with our young lad Toby, a great teacher and great fun as well. Huge thanks from me and Toby.

I would enthusiastically encourage anyone thinking of picking up a proper camera for the first time to do so with the extremely capable, professional and friendly Ken Pearson at Devon Photography School. I had a full-day with Ken, which allowed me to be immersed in the theory of taking a good photo, and then trying to put what I'd learned into practice in the afternoon on a picturesque walk along the Exe Estuary. I found that learning about the concepts of photography and then being let loose with a camera provided the perfect lesson. Ever since, I can't stop looking for leading lines and thinking about the rule of thirds, and staring at potential photos working out what my ISO, shutter speed and aperture might be, were I actually holding a camera. I've come away from the course very keen to buy myself a camera and try to genuine pursue photography as a hobby but also as a compliment to my work as a freelance journalist and copywriter.
