It's clean & well equipped & well maintained set in nice green grounds with tennis court, etc.. Main reception building Lopes Hall is a nice old building dating back to 1870's ?? We stayed there as holidaymakers to Devon when they do summer let's when the students are on vacation. We've stayed in 5 universities in this way in Brighton, Cardiff, Aberystwyth, Bournemouth & here in Exeter, all varying standards & quite different with prices ranging from 19 - 32 per night but here in Exeter was the most expensive @ 55 a night & there was no cooking facilities in the practically empty kitchen with only a sink & a microwave, ironing board, iron & kettles, 1 table & 1 chair & recycling bins & mop bucket. Not even a bowl for the microwave, maybe because they might get stolen. No fridge freezer but small fridges in each en~suite bedroom. They had a few disabled accessible rooms too. They loaned out fans. We had a receptionist who was very rude to us but all the other staff were very good & nice & they made adequate, satisfactory amends for the other one's behaviour. We'd say Brighton Uni campus:- Phoenix Halls of residence are the best of the above with very well equipped kitchens with fridge freezers & utensils & communal televisions with seating area to be shared by every 8 rooms but there was rarely anyone about when we were there in peak season in July & very good value for money & close to the popular beach & pier, attractions & amenities but depends where you are wanting to be of course ! :-D
