        The staff are great and the bar offers a reasonably good choice, but the space has to do too many different jobs and so ends up doing none of them very well. The council should have invested in purpose built performance spaces to attract large acts a long time ago, but their lack of imagination and ambition has left the people of Exeter with an adult school hall filled with bleachers and conference seats. Please O2 Academy, save us!

        The venue was okay, seating was way too close together with literally no elbow room. Staff were friendly and location easy to find. We went to see Paul Young, he was awful, no voice or personality to speak of and we left at the interval.

        Saw the motown show, it was very unprofessional, plus the music sounded muffled, left just after the interlude.
