I had a very positive experience when I recently took my 5 year old to get glasses. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating; they were able to see us straight away and I was so pleased in how they were with my son in speaking to him directly and making him feel included in choosing his first pair of glasses. The range of frames was really good and the turnaround time was in them being ready was super quick. All in all, very impressed.

I had my eye test recently with a lovely gentleman called Jonathan. He was very professional. It was my first visit to Andrew Laird opticians and I was very pleased with the service I received. Unfortunately I didn't have time to pick my pair of glasses on the day of my eye test but I will be returning to get some soon as the price range, I thought was good value for money.

Can't express how disappointed I am, I've used Andrew lairds as a family opticians all my life, my parents have used them and my grandparents. I visited as usual for my boys glasses (10yrs old) and told the price of everything had gone up and kids Nike frames are the same price as adults my usual 30/40 purchase changed to 100. On each set of frames shown I was told the costs of the frames. It's not until I questioned this the following day the optician didn't know quite what had been done? so I had to return when the person who sold them too me was in. I was told they weren't exactly a supplier of Nike frames any more / were going to stop selling them. (This suggests I shouldn't return as its all my boy likes) the price is correct (not saying the additional charge for lenses or the additional anti glare that had been added in!) I questioned I was only told about the frame costs no additional anti glare lenses! Only to be told it was mentioned and we would have to agree to disagree! It's just rude, as it's suggesting im wrong! (I can tell you the salted beef he was having for tea! I've not forgotten being told an extra 20 for anti glare lenses) and to be told child lenses aren't free any more it's just poor overall. I'm sure now Andrew laird has sold on the practice, he wouldn't like his name associated with what's happened. Such a shame as the reception staff and opticians have always been so helpful over the years. I've now got the same frames and lenses 40 cheap with another opticians and including free child's lenses and a years insurance for brakes and scratches. A whole family's business lost. Such a shame

I saw the Optometrist for an eye exam at the end of January, he was superb, highly professional and very friendly. Very satisfied with my experience and would recommend.

Having had a life long complex eye condition and having several years experience working within optics I can honestly say 5 stars are well deserved!! Firstly the person who answered the phone when making the appointment couldn't have been more lovely, no la-de-daa plum in mouth speak just a genuinely lovely person! I also hugely appreciated the reminder call the day before ( I can be a bit of a space cadet when it comes to remembering appointments) The eye exam itself with Mr Phillips was first rate!! He was kind caring and clearly had a passion for his profession!! He even pivked up what the West of England eye unit missed and has since referred me back to them!! Well done Team Laird keep it up!!!.
