I truly believe this is the best route into teaching. Not only because the DPSCITT team are incredibly supportive and extremely knowledgable, but the rigourous course and being in school for the whole academic year fully prepared me for my teaching career. Kate, Jon and Laura are always at the end of the phone or email for support and advice. I cannot thank the team enough

I trained with DPSCITT during 2020/21 and it was a different year to say the least. Despite the numerous lockdowns due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Kate and Jon did their upmost to make sure we still had access to a meaningful teaching experience along with high standard face-to-face training. My placement school prepared me for school life, having two very contrasting schools gave me a range of experience that provided me with skills and experience I will value for the rest of my career. I am well settled into my dream job as a Reception teacher and I can thank DPSCITT for getting me there!

I trained with DPSCITT (2020/21) and couldn't have asked for a better start to my teaching career. Every step of the way I was supported with excellent training and advice, whilst also being involved within the teams at both my placement schools. I felt so well prepared to start my ECT year and I know that I wouldn't be in this position without the endless support and outstanding training I received from DPSCITT. I cannot recommend DPSCITT enough and would encourage anyone considering a career in primary teaching to train with the DPSCITT!

I trained with Devon Primary SCITT in 2020/21. I cannot express how much the staff and the schools, as part of this course, supported me through one of the hardest parts of my life. It was a difficult year for everyone with the pandemic, but, during the course, I lost my dad to Covid. Many would have quit, but I was able to continue because of the wonderful tutors in DPSCITT, especially Kate Reeves who was my tutor. It was the brightest light in my life at the time. The students in my class didnt know it, but they lifted me up every time I saw them smile. By the end of the year I had a few parents come to me to say thank you, and one even expressed that Id really made an impression on her daughter. Many of my students cried when I left and just proved to me how right I was to continue with the course. I should also mention that I am autistic, and the support I got for this when the tutors knew, was honestly empowering. They dont just teach. They inspire you to succeed! After the course, I was able to get a job in the most beautiful little school, and Im loving my new career. There are not enough thank yous in the world to express my appreciation for my time at DPSCITT. So, if you want a teaching course thats inclusive, supportive, loving and full of kindness, then this is the only course you need to apply for!

I recently trained with DPSCITT. (2020/21) Despite National Lockdowns and restrictions for face to face learning with other trainees DPSCITT continued to diversify their learning and delivery of core content to give us all the best experience possible. Throughout the year I was lucky enough to complete 3 teaching practices amounting to over 14 weeks of teaching! The hands on approach meant that when you enter the workplace as an early career teacher youre well prepared and have experiences to pull from and share with new colleagues. Throughout the year - a particularly difficult one as you can imagine! Kate and Jon provided the utmost care and discretion when handling matters with trainees. Its easy to feel alone teaching, not with DPSCITT. Even after Graduating and gaining employment the team at DPSCITT check in on their alumni and send them emails with well wishes and encouragement just as they might be starting to dip. The experienced trainers, placement school teachers, support staff and mentors all are open and sharing of their past successes and strategies that they have trialled and adapted. I felt that throughout the course I was moulded to become who I am as a teacher - not just a cookie cutter teacher rolled out of a factory. I was the centre of my time at SCITT. The unexpected perk has been the friendship made with other trainees, dont be put off if you think youll know no one because youll bond before you even meet face to face over the summer tasks! I cant recommend DPSCITT enough. I feel lucky to have my dream job, new amazing friends who I get to be inspired by daily, so many fantastic memories and the resilience to keep going even when it feels like theres no end. Thank you DPSCITT for all youve done for me and others just like me, who didnt think they could do it - but they did!
