My Grandma came to live at Hillbrow nearly a year ago having lost my Grandpa after 60 years of marriage. It has been perfect for her as she is an incredibly kind and loving lady herself and is cared for by all of the staff (including the senior team, all the carers, housekeeping and catering staff) with the same level of kindness, love, respect and empathy that she has always shown other people. She has a beautiful, comfortable room which is just the right size for her to feel cosy but big enough for her to fit in all her photos, precious things and items that bring back memories from a happy past. She has been able to bring lots of her own furniture and that has made a real difference to her feeling at home. She has made some close relationships with many of the staff and residents and has been able to enjoy a mix of privacy and sociability that really suits her. The staff are all full of humour, fun, respect and kindness and nothing is ever too much trouble. They are always thinking of what more they can do to make life as happy as they can for the residents and are so open to talking at any point with family members. The activities manager runs a wonderful activities and outings programme each day which is lovely for a group and yet so personal. The food is great and all the residents are free to make requests or suggestions to the chef at any point if there is something they would love to eat. Birthday afternoon teas are a regular event! It's just perfect.

Mum had respite care here for a month over the Christmas period whilst she recovered from an operation. All staff were kind and caring and considerate of mum's needs. Nurses & care staff really kept a close watch on her and so she recovered quickly and came home after Christmas. Communication with the home was excellent. Thanks to all staff for supporting my mother and our family during this stressful time.
