A lovely little nursing home , all staff are great, very clean spacious rooms, Really good food, I was dead against putting my mother in a nursing home but this place is great, she was well looked after which put my mind at rest, highly recommend

My mum went into Brookfield for emergency respite. They were told verbally and in writing about my mum's needs which they said they could meet, but it turns out, they couldn't, and they shouldn't have accepted the booking for my mum's respite care. This is what happened: 1. On day three, I got a phone call to tell me they were confining her to bed because they wouldn't move her, despite knowing (via verbal info and in writing) that she couldn't stand or walk. This was unacceptable, so I went to Brookfield to bring her home. 1. She was pitiful and was wearing someone else's shabby clothes. 2. Her bag had also been packed with items of someone else's clothes. 3. Some of her own lovely clothes were missing. 4. I returned the items of clothing not belonging to my mum via post, and sent a printed copy of an email I had written asking why they accepted the booking for Mum's respite care when they couldn't meet her needs, and asking for the return of her missing clothes. 5. They ignored my emails and letter. I consider my mum's clothes have been stolen. 6. When I called our doctor for help for my mum, I found they had deregistered her from her doctor to place her at another surgery convenient to them with permanent effect (even though she was there for respite only). The woman providing meals and nutrition did call me on day 2 to ask about Mum's diet, and she seemed interested and caring. Otherwise, I do not recommend this care home. Mum's room was scruffy, and it bothered me to leave her there, though I was so tired I needed a break. As soon as I found out they were not meeting her needs, I was glad to cut it short and bring her home.
