Rutland Zoo

We had a wonderful time at Rutland Zoo today Joshua the Zoo Keeper got some of the creatures out for us to look at more closely and stroke! My three-year-old loved it!

We were greeted by Vanessa who told us about the place, and that you can go round the zoo as many times as you like. Its more personal than a normal zoo Rick got out a scorpion, stick insect , skink and a snake for us to hold, we were also able to stroke the armadillos back!! The staff were hilarious and so down to earth, will definitely be returning. Thanks!!

There's practically nothing I can say to fault this place. Staff were friendly and professional. I saw animals here that I havnt seen in major zoos before. I loved the walk through bit and the Agouti may be my new favourite animal. My one and only criticism is you didn't sell postcards in the shop which is kinda sad as I would have loved a small memento. Don't get me wrong though, this is easily one of the best small zoos I have been to, fairly priced and I completely recommend. Keep up the great work guys

I just want to say a big thankyou to Ben and his team for a brilliant day yesterday I'm a support worker and brought a client with a love of animals and creepy crawlies... We have been before and had very good visits yesterday's was fantastic these people know their stuff and you can tell they love sharing their knowledge... We did the face your fears not that my client had fears of what he touched it was more an experience of hands on he took lots of pictures of what he held which he will treasure for a long time... I would highly recommend doing the experience it's really not much more money 25 and that includes the admission you learn so much about the animals, you hold take away great memories of the day with your own photos you take with the creatures you hold brilliant time I would definitely say value for money
