Absolutely loved this walk, and the reservoir and views to the dales are awesome. Lots of geese and guls on the reservoir. Brilliant place.

Fabulous place for, walking with or without a dog ! Great for mtb riding, especially if you ride around "Embsay crags from the tarn & you can ride down the ridge but I would say it's for experienced riders !! Quite technical riding but if that's you the view from the top of the crags especially on sunny day is breath taking. All-round something there for a lot of people ; walk around the tarn, take a picnic on a nice sunny day ( summer ) if your lucky you might see some sailing boats out on the tarn. Well worth a visit with plenty of car parking spaces. If your a disabled driver with wheelchair & passenger that can help you in & out you can enjoy the clean air & the views. Enjoy !!

Hiking area. Took the path up from the reservoir by the sailing club. Followed uphill along the woods to the left. Easy to moderate hiking paths with fantastic views from the top. Well marked paths. Open moorland with some interesting rocks and waterfalls (if it has been raining). Good place to take kids as not too hard. Car park is free, no toilets.
