Elvington Fisheries

Have passed this venue lots of times in the past and thought that it was an exclusive carp only lake. Parked up and chatted to the owner and was very pleasantly surprised to find that is a day ticket venue. Owner was very informative and told us what was stocked in the lake. Yes there are big carp in the lake and big catfish as well. Won't be fishing for them as don't specialise fish species, just go to venues to pleasure fish . Well worth a visit.

I have been fishing Elvington on and off for many years and the fishing is good whether it be for specimens or silvers. Pete, the gentleman that bailiffs Elvington is very approachable with any questions that you may have and is also very knowledgeable so take on board his advice. Fish care is paramount so make sure you have the necessary equipment if you are fishing for the specimens.

Not a very good head of carp or is it that the catfish have ate them all? To many small fish below 1 inch. Three of us carp fishing with two rods each and not even a bite. It was a warm day but the day before at a different venue. It was 30c + and I still caught carp upto 15lb, we tried all different tactics but nothing was bitting. I did spend about an hour on method feeder just so I didn't blank. Managed a handful of skimmers and small roach on pellet.

Brilliant fishery, had a 50lb and a 23lb cat out on the same day. Really friendly, cracking session.
