Hidden away just off the A11 in Elveden this church is a Grade 11 listed building and rather special . Inside there are some rather spectacular carvings . The Reredos features the twelve apostles and also other important figures . It really is quite beautiful , a very nice lady told me it was made by a company in London . This interested me as on it is a carving of one St Olaf . Now this man was not only a well travelled and successful Viking he also features on the Reredos of Southwark Cathedral if my memory is correct they look very similar . We're these produced by the same company I wonder ? St Olaf is also the man behind the destruction of London Bridge a thousand years ago whilst out a viking being the rascal he was . He came good in the end though converting Scandinavia to Christianity . Saint Etheldreda and her sisters also feature on this great screen . There are also some beautiful stained glass windows I loved the St George one but the US airforce one was great too . They were based here in WW11 . The carvings on the pews are really cool also . The building is beautiful with a cloister connecting it to a separate bell tower . I was told that this provided a rather spectacular entrance for the Lords of the Manor , the Guiness family to the services here . Well worth a look and perhaps a prayer if passing .

A beautiful building and one that holds significance to the Sikh community as it is the burial place of Duleep Singh. He was the son of the maharaja of Punjab. He was exiled to Britain and lived much of his life here.
