The goods: chips arent greasy or salty, eco-friendly packaging, friendly service. The not-so-goods: homemade fishcake is not crispy or coated with breadcrumbs, but more like battered mashed potato and a bit of fish; overpriced pies - 10 for a single portion of beef pie which tastes not as good as Charlie Bighams (which costs half of that), lots of chips came along to compensate for the price but sadly cant make up for the quality.

Wow some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. Even better than some seaside places.

Frying frenzy unfolds in Shenley Road, fuelling fishy chip fight in Eldon Avenue. Free fish and chips feeding a fair queue for the opening of Borehamwoods latest food offering. Cannons, themed in black and white, opened its doors to a queue of people eager to try it out. The young staff seemed to take the it in their stride, seeming calm and in control. The light, non-greasy coating clothed the firm fish. My mummy doesnt eat chips and she didnt allow me to eat them as she says they are bad for teddy bears. But they looked nicely cooked and also, not greasy. It seemed that chips were being eaten all down Shenley Road. But the chip festivities continued into Eldon Avenue, where a chip fight was taking place between a small group of teenagers! Was it that they disliked the chips, or was it that they found the fish fillet filling and thought a chip fight would be fun for a Friday afternoon?! Cannons has an outdoor deck to eat at. Sadly, it is not wheelchair accessible but the shop doorway itself is somewhat so. If usability scooter you may not find room the turn around easily.
