I had a very bad experience at this recycling centre today, I have a small van we had permit to take rubbish six times a year. I had some bricks , concrete with two small planks of wood approx 75 cm long and one plastic sheet. Two quite mature and one young man looked at the Van contents . Young man and one other man was nice , very friendly, other mature man did not let me put anything in skips in the centre, saying it is too much.I requested if I could put two wood pieces and plastic at least in the Bins , he said NO , Skips were empty. I said I will bring wood , plastic and three bags of concrete in my car . Mature man said : I will check your car first. I there was five negative stars on Reviews I will give that.

( Please read this To all members of the public dont use this centre ! Waterdale centre is much better now, Elstree Centre is a dump !!! ) Lately this centre has gone down hill fast! This centre is far to small for the Area, Ive Seen even older people finding it hard trying to use the Stairs which Leads you to dispose of your waste, and they move when using them and lots of Miscellaneous items sorted on the top of the stairs, and Peoples black bin bags are getting Ripped opened by and older man his name is Peter Who is the site manager, and-why does our items ie / mobile phones and other electrical devices and different items go in Peters and Steves pockets, or in site Wheelie bins then Peter and Steve Sort out what they are Taking home, this happens where there is no cc tv or around the back of the skips, and Peter takes all of the copper and brass to his house where family members then sell it on for him then peter makes out it goes missing, and Peter and Steve both sell items from this centre for profits, when it should be going in the skips and Disposed of in the correct manner or in reusable shops, as Steve recently sold a blue bike which he had stolen it from the recycling centre or shop for a lot of money and also some of the items are Data Sensitive, this very very Bad Supervisory team in charge of the centres they all incapable of doing there job and they are just Bullies, the place looks like one big Trip hazard with items Stacked up in all Corners on the floor, and the office Area looks like It could do with a good clean as it looks like a junk shop and a repair shop, as you drive out the centre theres a big Cream Container with items and cables all over the place and on the floor, and where Metal fences are around the site peter and Steve are stealing items coming in the recycling centre Through the The fence And at night then staff load there Vehicles up. People are finding it very tight to park as lots of big vans taking up lots of the parking, and it Seems like they have Priority over cars. I say you need to bring back the two younger men who used to run it Danny and Fred they are the best, as This centre was all ways was open back then, and never had any problems and was Spotless, only happy faces Hertfordshire county council you have messed up big time supervisors are on the Fiddle the reuse shops are a set up .
