I Had the amazing pleasure of staying at the manor for 1.5 weeks. over that time I felt like i was apart of the family. All of the staff were spectacular with so many to talk about. First is Charles; Charles is the most on point bartender I have ever come across, plus his easy going personality was amazing for me to not only have someone to chat with at the bar but I feel as if ive made a new friend in a new place as I am from Canada and know not a soul in england. Everyone here made me feel as if i was back home talking to the locals working at the pub. Next is Chantel, An amazingly funny and bubbly personality, she made everyday a blast and even when the days got busy and she was stressed she pulled it off with the most professional demeanour. I will miss our chats when i'm back in Canada and i can only hope she stays apart of the manor family so when I return we can pick up where we left off. :) Now, Alex. she is the next level of what you would call machine, i've never seen someone do so much work in a day all in one place, It was amazing to witness and I can only hope she gets the raise she deserves, plus she has more harry potter knowledge than anyone i've ever met. Challenge her I dare you. At reception, Martin is what you call a working lad in Canada. That man can do it all, i've seen him go from the bar to the restaurant, reception and room service, he really has no limit. plus he consistently works morning to night shifts which was amazing to see such energy even though he started at 6AM and worked till midnight. truly a great conversationalist and always has something funny to say. I cant forget about Sophie & Phil. they work as hard as any, with Phil running back and forth taking luggage for guests and also working in the restaurant, he is always at full charge and never seems to dull. Sophie is a bright cheerful woman and is a pleasure to talk to at the bar, and is quick on her feet. did i mention they treat everyone amazingly, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when i return to england. And from now on the manor is where i will be when i need a drink or just need a good space to relax. I thank the entire staff for having me and I hope I didn't cause to much trouble ;). till the next time I will miss you all with all my heart. I cant thank you all enough. Cheers

Lovely fresh and plentiful afternoon tea. Really delicious. Cheerful staff. First impressions are good, but we went for a walk around the garden after lunch and were surprised to see it all looks a bit tatty. Large planters in the garden empty with weeds growing in them. Other random plant pots that didnt match the feel of the hotel again weeds growing in them (just get rid of them rather than leave them to grow weeds). These little touches would make such a difference in what could be a beautiful garden. Tatty decking with wobbly surround. Theres a restaurant or bar to the side of the hotel, again scruffy decking, toilets that looked abandoned with tissues and paper all over the floor. Im not sure if that is part of the hotel but it ruins the look of the hotel. We didnt stay over but the outside of the rooms need renovating the wood around the windows and doors all needs freshening up. The wallpaper behind reception is torn. Theres an abandoned house at the entrance with smashed open windows and doors, again not a good look. All these little touches would bring the hotel back to the standard of when it was The Laura Ashley. Its a shame its being left to get shabby like this.
