Simon Levy Associates

I have hired Simon Levy twice in the last ten years to represent me as an Adjoining Owner in the face of my neighbours party wall building works. Simon was originally recommended to me by a friend (a property professional) as a surveyor who would aggressively defend my interests. My friend couldnt have been more right. In the first instance Simon took on a rather careless neighbour to ensure my property was protected and damages compensated. In the second instance (different property) Simon took on a rather rogue, unresponsive and sometimes devious neighbour to assure the same. Both situations required huge attention to the specific detail of my case(s), intricate knowledge of party wall law, routine communication with me and, especially in the second case, Rottweiler-like persistence over many many months. Simon was routinely (and refreshingly) instantly available to me by email and phone. Having him on my side became a HUGE assurance especially when matters grew more complex and were sometimes quite distressing. In the end - Simon prevailed and I was paid for damages in full by both adjoining owners. I am not sure this would have happened without Simons strength of character and lightening bolt knowledge. I am sincerely GRATEFUL and cannot thank him, nor recommend him, enough.

We instructed SLA on the service of 2 party wall awards. Our surveyor was very professional and always provided thorough, detailed and comprehensive advice. I highly recommend SLA and would have no hesitation in instructing them again.

Disappointing experience with Simon Levy. He charges an above market fee but services provided are sub par. Very unresponsive - my queries have been ignored for several weeks and he did not properly finish his assignment: he did not want to review the answers provided by the vendor on the queries he raised himself in his report, and requested an additional fee of 200! in a nutshell: unprofessional behaviour, no fee transparency and not responsive at all.

I engaged Simon Levy Associates to carry out a full building survey to a Grade II listed building and provide a rebuild cost pursuant to a purchase. The report provided by Simon is superb, clearly written, excellently detailed and illustrated by a comprehensive photo record. I highly recommend them and wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.
