Interesting church with the tower and chancel dating back to the early C13th. The tower houses 5 bells dating from 1636 though since 1958 only the fifth bell was hung for tolling. However in 1985 the ancient bells were recast with a ring of six. Wall-painting fragments judged to be C12th were revealed in 1989. The church is open daily for viewing.

St Mary's in Henham is an early medieval structure, built from the regionally typical flint and rubble. The tower is topped by a Hertfordshire spike. The interior is fairly plain, the nave has an aisle both north and south. The chancel features reredos with passages of scripture and certainly are not contemporary with the construction of the chancel in 1290. There are several windows of attractive stained glass and a rather ornate font.

Welcoming, large youth group at the 6pm Sunday evening service. Lovely. Recommend.

St Mary's is a beautiful church of considerable character, a peaceful retreat with brick flooring, tasteful decoration with box pews and a handsome rood screen
