When Percy Ingles sadly closed I was pleased to see this open in its stead and went in to support our new local bakery. Oh dear. The word 'crusty' is a bit of a giveaway in a roll. It doesn't mean so chewy that it was a struggle to eat it (& yes, my teeth are fine, thanks) I also bought a jam doughnut. It was awful. I've never tasted anything like it. Still, it was their first day, so we waited a while and went back. This time we went for a sliced loaf. Not good and over priced (fellow reviewer, Steve, I'm glad your breakfast was reasonable, but it doesn't give you the right to assume others are lying or being awkward). They were also selling a pink cupcake in aid of breast cancer charities, so, as a 'survivor' I brought one. This turned out to be a fairy cake with a huge dollop of lurid pink butter cream. Going back to teeth, that certainly set them on edge. Still, I was under the impression that this bakery had been opened by a young girl just starting out and I was trying desperately to support her in her new venture. So, back we went. Another 'go' at the non crusty rolls and, goodness knows what came over me, but I bought a pink meringue nest cake. This it turned out, was filled with the same butter icing as the previous cake, with no discernible flavour. At all. Looking at the cakes in the shop, they all have that 'I helped nanny make these' appearance. Is that the secret? Young children back stage? I spoke to a relative of mine, saying that I'd been trying to support Hannah in her endeavours, but that I just couldn't go there again. She pointed out to me, that this is actually one of a chain. How??? I actually still hope it goes well. But, unfortunately, it won't be with our custom.

First time here. Very welcoming young staff.ordered two cooked breakfasts. Took time but was all freshly cooked and most apologetic for time taken.whilst waiting we heard a couple of women in the queue who moaned that they weren't served straight away (maybe try Gregg's??). To be fair , please be patient as customers. They do their best , they aim to please and not everyone is going to be happy all the time but give them a break please. For the female staff working, don't worry they probably talk that way to everyone - not knowing the meaning of please or thank you...you coped well with those difficult customers My wife and I had great service with a smile. The bacon and sausages were really tasty and I am quite fussy!! For five pounds I am quit surprised at any reviews stating overpricing but each to their own. So scrambled eggs perfectly done, mushrooms tomatoe sausages and bacon and a large slice of sourdough toast wow!!!! Was heavenly. Please give it a try it's a great local business! I can't put on photos as the breakfast was gone in two minutes.
