Ellesmere

So much variety in the lovely countryside surrounding this friendly small town, good walking here. A sculpture trail starts near the Mere. The Canal Maintenance Yard has fascinating tours on Saturdays. Do visit the town centre, especially at carnival time, regatta time, festival time. A town that really has fun and enjoys the arts. The White Hart just gets better and better! It's certainly not the only pub. I love the views from the bowling green at the top of St John's Hill. Then I decide whether to walk to the Mere or the Canal or down the old Love Lane.

Ellesmere a rural market town in north west corner of shropshire close to the welsh border, lots of pleasant places to walk like the meres ( lakes) and the llangolen canal designed by thomas telford for the transportation of welsh slates from llangolen to ellesmere port and liverpool ( hence the name ellesmere (port) via the shropshire union canal . Also Ellesmere has some great traditional butchers and bakers that still have shops on the high street selling the best pies plus ellesmere is home to fulwood milking parlours and hiab. Very friendly people and naturally beautiful clean place well worth visiting.
