I have just come back from sailing in the Sporades, Greece, on a bare boat charter, a 4 year old Sun Odyssey 349. The team at Nautilus provided very helpful comprehensive service before and after I booked, with very useful briefing documents on the area and from their local Fleet Agent. The details on the Sporades cruising area on the website are accurate, and the wind (3rd week of September) was as expected, up to Force 5/6 at times, so some good sailing! A good week's itinerary suggestion on the web site. The optional Asymmetric/ Bloomer sail was almost brand new and all the required ropes and blocks were included. I would happily charter from Nautilus again. Only suggestion to add to the FAQs ...A barboat charter skipper should take latest Pilot book version + gaffer tape, roll of thin line, whipping twine, and silicon spray for the inevitable running fixes that are always required on any bareboat charter. A great UK agent for chartering yachts around the world. Strongly recommended.

I have just returned from Greece after sailing El Cano a 42 foot Sun Odyssey. Here is my feedback and advice to future customers. I have given 5 stars, because I found this organisation to be very honest and very efficient and above all quick to resolve questions and issues so I therefore highly recommend. The following is for development and to enable others to avoid some of the issues I encountered. The boat was only 2 years old and had minor interior problems, door handle came off some of the trim in the kitchen fell down. Nothing to worry about as these are not system critical and normal as we know for boating, nothing is ever perfect. Watch out for the remote control on the windlass and do not engage unless you are absolutely sure this is where you want to anchor. This did suffer from a runaway and we lost the chain and anchor in 20 metres, not my intention, we just could not stop it. The chain's last line of defence was a small shoelace of a rope. I advised that this needed a shackle and a much stronger piece of rope if this happens again. After my suggestions, we repaired this all went well, as long as you use the remote control and be aware the fuse to the windlass tripped a number of times. The switch is under the bed on the stern port side cabin. The text is very, very small where is saids ON. The toilets need a lot of pumping and I was not convinced they were emptied before we arrived, I cannot confirm this! However, with continued flushing, we got there in the end! I purchased some easysail oil as the rigging needed some work to get running again. Once this happen we had some great days sailing, watch out in the afternoon the wind just turns on and gets going extremely quickly. Get to the harbours early as these were very busy. On the whole, I will use this company again as I mentioned they were very professional. Can I suggest a short video or summary handbook be supplied for each boat? As we know, you can sail many boats, however, each one has its own way of working. Thanks again for a great holiday and I will be back next year for another one. Regards David
