        On Mothering Sunday 2023, the attendant at this service station refused to serve a mother with fuel because she had got out of her car with her mobile phone in her hand. There was no warning; no request to put the phone down. He just refused to allow her to use the fuel pump. There was no negotiating on his part. He just decided that she was not going to have fuel under any circumstances. This level of aggression was totally disproportionate and unreasonable. The attendant was abusive, intransigent and apparently misogynistic. Complaints will be made to Esso, but in the meantime we will certainly be urging everyone that we know to use the service station at Mill Hill in Edenbridge.
