Extremely RUDE staff!!! I popped with my daughter. There were no clear signs to confirm opening times. I tried the handle & a woman literally screamed WE ARE SHUT! I apologised, extremely shocked, my daughter & I were flabbergasted at the volume & tone. Unfortunately we will not be going back.

A hidden gem! Here, you can wander around the house for free (built in 1545 and the land was previously owned by Jayne Seymour, wife of Henry the VIII), there are events on throughout the year, 1940s weekend, Viking weekend, Ghost tours, etc, and this is also a wedding venue. There is a sizable cafe that is reasonably priced, and the staff are friendly, professional, and helpful. A short walk across the road is a Unique shopping centre with a couple of cafes and there's plenty of toilet facilities on both sites. Well worth a visit!
