Stayed one night in the centre of pretty and historic village. Lovely quaint historic building and welcoming staff. Nice buzz from other drinkers. Sadly we were the only ones in the restaurant but the food was OK. What really spoiled the place in my view were the unattractive modern red dining chairs everywhere and too much old " personal" stuff on walls and shelves etc. The bedroom was fine but no more than that. It looked rather outdated but was comfortable enough and the small shower room was OK. Nearby activities: Pretty churchyard and historic houses. It is quite near to Deal and Walmer castles. Reserved parking available for overnight guests.

Very pleasant weekend stay at "olde" village centre pub. Staff were genuinely friendly, helpful and attentive; room was nice, very good breakfast. The restaurant serves simple, homely but nicely prepared fare. One small grumble - there was a modern bandit machine flashing away in the restaurant room (but at least the sound was turned off and no-one used it while we were there).
