        I must admit that I was a little bit apprehensive about my son's appointment, having read a very recent Google review from someone who sounds like they had a poor experience at Orthoworld. However, I can only comment on my own personal experience, which was extremely positive. We were not kept waiting long and my son was seen by a very friendly orthodontist who, despite a busy waiting room full of patients, was happy to chat and clearly explain the situation with regard to my son's teeth. We left feeling very positive that my son's treatment is in good hands. There was no evidence of any kind of different level of service due to being an NHS, rather than a private patient.

        Terrible first impression of this place. I took my son for a consultation today having been referred re a brace. He was anxious and had lots of questions he wanted to ask. We sat in the room for a few minutes with a member of staff and then another woman came in who tuned out to be the dentist, did not introduce herself, spoke to her assistant and then said "Open" to my son and started looking at his teeth. Not a hello, how are you, this is what we will be doing today, any questions - nothing at all. Then she finished and left the room saying the assistant would explain the rest. The assistant spoke directly to me to say he needs a brace and it will take 18-24 months and after that he will have to wear a retainer at night forever. Only when I said I would prefer to pay privately did they start treating us like people/customers and showed us to a separate room and had time to chat through prices and options etc. My son came out feeling really worried - not having been spoken to with any decency or given a chance to be told what was happening, or anyone speaking to him as a child (11!) to explain what braces were, why he needed them or attempting to put his mind at rest and make him feel cared for or reassured. I will never be going back here again and would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.
