In recent years maintenance work of the canal and pathways have been greatly improved. It has always been a pleasure to walk along the canal and the improvements have greatly increased the pleasure to walk even more, especially as I have got older.

Excellent restoration work being undertaken on the Eastington stretch of the Stroudwater canal, with the 5 locks on this section either been fully restored, work in progress on others and future plans to be brought to fruition on the remaining, plus the length of canal from Pike Bridge to just beyond the M5 beyond Fromebridge Mill. Lovely walk along the towpath, the peace and calm of the canal contrasting with the busy A419 which runs alongside it, whilst the heritage and information boards good to read to learn about how the canal's restoration is progressing. Pleasant and recommended place to visit if interested in canal heritage, or looking for something different and away from mainstream tourist attractions.
