NCP Car Park Eastbourne Trinity Place

What a nightmare this car park was today. One of the two payment machines were out of order so there was a queue for that. Then there was problem with the machine on the out barrier so there were dozens of cars backed up just waiting. When someone did come along they insisted on nursing everyone through the barrier manually which was taking forever. What they should have just done is open the barrier to clear the backlog for 5 minutes, everyone had paid after all. When I finally got to the barrier I asked the man whilst he was trying to get the machine to accept my ticket why he couldn't just open the barrier but he said it was against company policy. So it's company policy to p*ss your customers off by holding them in a car park for an hour is it? Sort your technology and your company policies out.

As is typical there is an electric charging point that does not work. You spend 10 mins downloading the apps and you have to add 10 to the account only to find out the charger does not work. Imagine going to a petrol station having to download an app pay in advance and then be told there is no petrol

Easy to enter and depart short distance from sea front , probably like a lot of places, parking bays bit small for the big SUVs there are a few large bays

It's not overly expensive and about 5 minute walk to get into Eastbourne town. Even quicker to sea front. However it would appear alot of people that don't seem to have children like to park their cars in the parents/child spaces and the car park does nothing about it. Payment system is quite modern and it's a little cheaper if you use their app.

DO NOT TRY TO LEAVE AND RETURN, if you have pre-booked. It might seem that it would be very easy for them to keep accepting your barcode for the full time. They don't. It cost me 7 quid for the day and another 7 quid again to park again elsewhere after it locked me out.
