From the moment we contacted Gayle we knew wed found the company to make the wedding cake for my son and future daughter in law. Great communication, taster cake to enjoy at home, she just really got our fairly sketchy ideas and created the cake of dreams. I cannot recommend the team at Where the Ribbon Ends highly enough. Absolutely perfect, thank you guys. Napkin holder decorations around the cake courtesy of the two five year old flower girls!

We are wedding photographers and when we hear one of our couples are using Where the Ribbon ends for their cake we are always so excited. We have no idea what they put in there icing/buttercream but it is the best we have ever tasted (and we get to try a lot of cake).

Where The Ribbon Ends created our beautiful wedding cake and bespoke biscuits for our December wedding at Bolton Abbey, and we were absolutely delighted with the quality of the cake, its beautiful design, the variety of flavours - and, of course, the friendliness of the team! We originally met with Gayle in September 2022 to discuss ideas at their studio, and this was really helpful for seeing the different sizes/layer combinations/designs that had been previously done. Though a great fan of eating cake, I found myself quite stuck when it came to design, but through this visit and some chat, we settled on a simple design with some small floral details and touches of gold to complement our wedding palette. We also had a mixture of flavours; chocolate, lemon and white chocolate with raspberry all of which were delicious. In addition to this, WTRE also created some bespoke biscuits for our favours with a variation of vintage William Morris icing prints. These were the perfect nod to my family's upholstery company and matched the groomsmens pocket squares which I loved. Again, the biscuits were delicious. A few guests were definitely scouting around for spares at the end of the night! Set up on the day all went smoothly and the cake/favours looked beautiful. We cant thank you guys enough :) If youre considering choosing Where the Ribbon Ends for your wedding cake, then definitely go for it!

Our journey to find Where The Ribbon Ends began in April 2021 a month after we got engaged. Having been in the Wedding planning industry myself for 7 years at the time I was keen to find some newer local companies to be part of our special day. April 2021 was lockdown 3 in the UK therefore we order cake sample boxes. We also ordered another box from a competitor company. Initially on our search we found 3 cake companies but chose WTRE and a competition to try purely down to cost. We were an intimate wedding of 40 day and 60 eve but knew we wanted 3 tiers (feeds 120/140) therefore we tried to not get carried away with designer cake costs! The samples were a delight and my fianc and I tasted them all blindly making hidden scores and showing each other at the end. WTRE came out on top! We therefore reserved our date with Gayle and booked our consultation in March 2022. Quickly the year flew by and we met Gayle in person. Such a lovely, bubbly lady and wonderful to hear how family run the company is. Fast forward 7 months and our wedding day is here. WOW WOW WOW. Our bespoke stencil design was stunning and fitted our NZ theme. The cake was better than we imaged and the beautiful flavours blew our guests away (they all went back for seconds even though they were full). We chose: Red velvet Carrot & coconut (my fav) Lemon, lemon curd A huge thank you to Gayle & the team/family. Now to try and find another excuse for one of your beautiful cakes.
