Superb. Braithwaite Hall is an exceptional National Trust hidden gem in the heart of Coverdale. The spacious selfcatering apartment is outstanding, and houses many original (14th/17th century) features. These include; flagstone and oak parquet flooring, stone fireplaces with wood burning stove and original woodwork. Vicky, Charlie, their dogs and idyllic working hill farm are the perfect hosts for anyone who loves the great outdoors, walking, cycling and riding. Overall a first-rate experience. (For dinner try The Blue Lion, East Witton and The Saddle, Coverham/Forbidden Corner. For a lunchtime snifter try The Coverbridge Inn.)
